Hope's Science Olympiad Team Tryouts will be Tuesday, October 1st from 3:35 - 5:30 in Mrs. Ange's 6th grade classroom. Students must have a ride at school by 5:30. This year's team will be posted on this site Friday evening on October 4th. The first scheduled practice for the 18 member team will be Tuesday, October 8th from 3:35 - 5:30 in Mrs. Sanderson's STEM lab. There will be a mandatory parent meeting held in the media center on October 8th at 5:30.
The team will practice every Tuesday through December. Starting in January the team will practice on both Mondays and Tuesdays until the regional tournament on Saturday, February 22 at East Carolina University. This is an all day event that requires the attendance of at least one parent per team member.
Commitment to our SO team is a year long process. Each year, our teams have qualified to attend the State tournament held in Raleigh in April. This year's tournament will be Saturday, April 25th at NC State University. This is also an all day event that requires the attendance of at least one parent per team member. There is an optional opening ceremony on Friday, April 24th.
